Can bangarang be the official “battle cry” of those battling mental illnesses now?
You know what, I shouldn’t have to explain myself to anyone. Nobody should be making comments on my personality and continuously asking me why I’m negative, extremely awkward and embarrassing, cautious and nervous.
I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO SAY TO ANYONE: “I HAVE ANXIETY. THERE. ARE YOU HAPPY NOW? NOW DO YOU FINALLY UNDERSTAND WHY I AM THE WAY THAT I AM?”
What’s even more irritating is that most people still won’t get it.
If you don’t have a mental illness, please educate yourself because your judgments because someone else has trouble getting out of bed in the morning while you’re ready to start your day, or because someone else can’t stop embarrassing themselves in front of new people while you’re the coolest person in the room, or because someone has to make sure the door is locked exactly 4 times and you can just lock it once and leave, makes it even worse. You may think this stuff can be changed, but even with loads of medication, most of the time it can’t be helped. Don’t be ignorant about mental illnesses. They’re not things to take lightly. They heavily impact people who have them, but these people aren’t weak. Chances are, people with mental illness are just as strong as you are if not stronger.
" You have been a fabulous audience! Tell you what, you’re the best audience in the whole world. Take care of yourselves! Good night, Alice! Good night, Agrabah! Adios, amigos!"
- Genie (Robin Williams)
Every faction conditions its members to think and act a certain way. And most people do it. For most people, it’s not hard to learn, to find a pattern of thought that works and stay that way. But our minds move in a dozen different directions. We can’t be confined to one way of thinking, and that terrifies our leaders. It means we can’t be controlled. And it means that no matter what they do, we will always cause trouble for them.
